Bearskin Lake First Nation
Bearskin Lake First Nation is a member of the Wataynikaneyap Transmission Project and was grid connected in July 2023. Remotes distributes electricity within the community for the more than 480 on-reserve residents (2022) of the remote, fly-in Oji-Cree speaking community located in Northern Ontario on beautiful Michikan Lake. Remotes also maintains and operates the Bearskin Lake Diesel Generating Station (DGS) for use during transmission system outages. The DGS has three generators ranging from 410-1000 kW.
